Biography

 

Joanna Stanecka  was born in Lodz (Poland). She studied acting at the National High School of Film, TV and Theatre in Lodz and finished with a Master` s degree of art.

She was engaged at Thearte Rozmaitości in Warschau, where she worked with (among others) Wojciech Maryański and Adam Sroka.

In 2000 she moved to Germany.

Now she works with the team of Zeitmaultheater in Bochum, at “Theater im Depot” in Dortmund and she is a member of “artscenico performing arts” (North Rhine Westphalia in Germany).

A strong part of her repertoire are solo theatre performances like “The Stranger”, “My farm”, “The unwomanly face of war”, “Provincial actress” and the chanson-concert “Marlene, Marlene” with the songs of Marlene Dietrich.

 

All these solos are available in Polish and German. That’s why she can present them to an international audience presenting also a pretty piece of polish culture.

Her performances were shown at many places: NYC, Vienna, Liege, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Warsaw, Łódź, Gdańsk, Hel, Toruń, Düsseldorf, Münster, Bayreuth, Essen, Kiel, Kazimierz nad Wisłą, Wiesbaden, Jurata, Toruń and many others…

She has been involved as an actress in German and Polish series and films like “M jak Miłość” (“ L like Love”), “Polizeiruf 110” (“ Police call 110”),  “Lombard” (“Pawnshop”), “Reporterzy” (“Reporters”), or “Wild Republk”.

In February 2020 she was honoured with a Gold Owl Price in Vienna, for her theatre activity popularizing polish culture across the world.

She is part of „Twórcy wizerunku Polonii“ (a collection of biographies of successful emigrated artists from Poland).
